Overcoming my battle

So I've come to a point in my life that enough is enough.  I have been overweight for more than 14 years now and I can't take this anymore!  With my husband by my side, we vow to exercise six days per week for thirty minutes per day.  Starting off slow so not to fall off the wagon, so to speak.  Cut out the alcohol, snacks, fast food, and DQ runs.  Work our way up to two hours per day of exercise and see where that gets us.  We don't eat much, but we eat wrong.

So many changes to come, and in the end I hope to feel good inside and out.  I can't take this any longer.  My body hurts all over and it's failing.  I must do something now....if I'm to stay alive!!

Here's to a new beginning........

  1. How wonderful that this is something you and your husband can do together!!! My husband and I are battling the demon cigarettes together right now... I lost a close friend to a heart problem in September and have since been asking myself how I can continue to voluntarily damage my heart by smoking when Jason, his wife, and 2 boys would've given anything for his heart to be healthy! Here's to both of us, and our hubbies, may we stay on the wagon toward our respective goals!!! :)

  2. Misty,

This is absolutely wonderful of you and your husband to do together! These types of goals are much better to acheive with someone by your side. My father had a mild heart attack about 5 years ago and my mother and I chose to overcome that battle with him. His cholesterol was through the roof! So, of course, he needed to change his eating habits and so did we! He lost over 50 pounds, my mother lost close to 40 and I was last with 35 dropped off my body. We were all very happy and I just know you can do it, too!

It is an amazing feeling to know you can accomplish something so time consuming, but it is totally worth it. So, on that note, best of luck to both of you and I'll be here cheering for you :D
